First, You will need to fly... |
Playa Jaibas is located in what is know as Costa Alegre, in the Pacific coast of Mexico, between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo.
Flying from the US: There are several options to get here from the US, as most main cities have direct flights to Puerto Vallarta, and even a few have direct flights to Manzanillo. If you don't plan to visit Mexico City, then you might want to choose a non-stop flight to Manzanillo (1½ hr drive to Playa Jaibas) or Puerto Vallarta ( 2 ½ hr drive to Playa Jaibas). Since Manzanillo is a bit closer, look at it as a first choice (airport code: ZLO). But Puerto Vallarta (airport code: PVR) is not that much further, and it has many more flight options than Manzanillo. If you can't find good non-stop flights, there are tons of options with stop-over in Mexico City. If you plan to visit Mexico City, then you have many more flight options to Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta from there. Flying from Argentina: Mexicana flies from Buenos Aires to Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta (with stop-over in Mexico City). Lan Chile flies to Puerto Vallarta (with stop-over in Mexico City also). And Aerolineas Argentinas flies to Mexico City. They don't offer connecting flights to Manzanillo or Puerto Vallarta, so if you fly with Aerolineas Argentinas you will need to book the portion Mexico City-Manzanillo (or Puerto Vallarta) with Volaris (www.volaris.com.mx), Interjet (www.interjet.com.mx), and also Mexicana or Aeromexico. Volaris & Interjet have good prices. You can also fly with American Airlines, although the stop-over will be in an US city. If you have miles with American Airlines, you can use them to fly on Mexicana (you will only need 40,000 miles, a great deal!). |
